Ali & Jonathon's Wedding
It's time for a road trip. Is it still called a destination wedding if you don't have to take a plane there? I'm willing to put it in that category, since I might consider Saint John to be in a whole other world from Moncton ;)
My first stop was to meet up with Jon at Irving Nature Park in Saint John, a few minutes before the first look. Since they were traveling into town not long before the wedding, I didn't get a chance to meet Ali & Jon before the wedding day. Which, being an overly cautious person by nature (see: paranoid), left me worrying what I was in for. Obviously I had nothing to worry about, as it was immediately apparent that they and their friends were all pretty great people, and that this was going to be an awesome day.
We hung around the coast for a few minutes for some great shots, and had a furry little visitor on our way back out. How could I Not include him in the album?
Our next stop was the Saint John Public Gardens where we met up with the rest of the wedding party for some greener pictures. The day seemed to threaten rain, but managed to hold off while we were busy with having fun with the photos.
The lovely Lily Lake Pavilion was the site of the ceremony. The hall was decked out with decorations, and family and friends who watched them exchange vows and heartwarming significant looks.
After the ceremony, since I wasn't around for the prep time in the morning, I grabbed the rings and a couple things for a few of my 'famous' macro shots (famous in my own mind, perhaps). After some family and friend photos outside the pavilion, no sooner had everyone returned inside for the dance and party to begin, the rain started. (After this day, it will be quite a few more weddings before the rain decided to be gracious with the photographer again).
Games, desserts, and dancing ensued, stories were shared, tears were shed, smiles were all around, and all was right with the world. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your wonderful day, and congratulations, Ali & Jonathan!
