My Photography

It's not always just about a list of shots we need. It's about the people, and about finding unique sparks of life, and the magic of light in every shoot. It’s in the in between moments that you so often discover something new and unexpected each time.

My style is a mix of just about everything. I'll be a fly on the wall with candid/documentary for much of a wedding day, I'll shoot natural light when it works, but I'll also pull out the big guns (lights/lenses) and make something truly epic whenever there’s the time or place for it. Some photographers can be afraid of the dark, but I always come equipped to bring great light to any situation.

I try keep things from getting too serious. I want to take some great pictures, but I also want everyone to have some fun while we're at it.

About Me

I have many interests in my life. I'm a musician, an actor, a photographer, a huge nerd, and if you count my education, an engineering technologist.

I keep pretty busy, but can usually find time for one more photoshoot. Drop me a line any time and I'll get back to you in no time (once I’ve put down the camera for a few minutes, that is).

On the day of a wedding I’m often told that I provide a calming and reassuring presence to the room. Which I’m always relieved to hear, since my mind is always racing to think of the next shot! But I always know it’ll all turn out great in the end. After over 10 years in the business doing every type of photographer and videography I can get myself into (not to mention about 200 weddings), there’s not an awful lot that can catch me off guard with a camera in my hands.

Collaboration

While I’ll be decisive about coming up with great shots, I’ll also be looking for your input all along the way, to make sure that we’re capturing the aspects of the spaces/places/moments that are most important to you. I strongly believe that the creative process should be collaborative, to reflect both my style and your unique view and personality.

I’ve always been passionate about education and helping others to FLOURISH in the photography industry.

Cooperation over competition is important to me.

As such I am proud to be the skills canada national technical committee member (NTC) for photography for the province of new brunswick!
