Viltrox 40mm f/2.5 Review

Coming in hot right after the beautiful Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 for Sony APS-C, we have an equally cutesy and demure lens, but in Full Frame this time! But will the reduced aperture make for a boring lens? Let’s go in depth and find out!

We’ll start out our image samples with the cats eye bokeh test. Unfortunately the only cat’s eyes we see here are on Maggie. The edges of the bokeh go d-shaped instead.

Then we’ll stick to the studio for some moody portraiture with Vee https://www.instagram.com/vee._.pink

If you want to see more photos from that shoot, head over to the 56 1.7 review, as that setup was built primarily for that lens.

Next up we’ll hit the streets for what this lens Really excels in: street photography.

And then finally a few shots from a wedding. I mostly used this for family portraits in a field, and while those looked quite lovely, I’m afraid I’d rather not share those ;)
